Pot Ordinance

KaBOOM/Dr. Pepper Snapple Group Playgorund Build

KaBoom playground build in the Village of Urbancrest in the Martin Luther King Park next to the YMCA. The build day was July 28, 2017, start time 8:00am completion estimated time was around 2:00pm. We had around 184 volunteers, it was a great day in the Village and a special thank you to all of those of you who came out to build a much needed playground for the children.

Community Update on the Village of Urbancrest and theYMCA Agreement

The Village of Urbancrest has drafted an ageement to be reviewed and considered by the YMCA for acceptance between the two parties. After several meetings between the two parties over the past seven (7) months. The Village is waiting on a response from the YMCA. The committee members for the Village of Urbancrest are Mayor Barnes, the village Law Director Rodd Lawrence, Council Person Skeaton and Council Person Shepherd. Mr. Stephen Ives is corresponding on behalf of the YMCA .

 

Seeking Community Input on Pot Ordinance

The Village of Urbancrest council is seeking input from its constituents regarding medical marijuana grow operations. The village council has already had two readings on the prohibition of medical marijuana grow facilities within the community. The final reading is scheduled to be voted on at the August 8, 2017, meeting. KaBoom Playgorund Build

Volunteers are needed for a KaBoom playground build in the Village of Urbancrest in the Martin Luther King Park next to the YMCA. The build day is July 28, 2017, start time is 7:30am completion estimated around 2:00pm. Breakfast and Lunch will be provided for the volunteers. Come out and help us give the kids a safe haven to come and play, contact the Village Municipal Office at (614)875-1279 9:00am-5:00pm. After regular business hours leave your name and telephone number and someone will get back to you; remember it is all about the kids hope to see you there.

The Village has put together a committee to work with the YMCA to come up with a win/ win solution for both parties to keep the Vaughn E. Hairston YMCA open. Servicing the southwest quardrant area providing both services and programs to include community availbility hours. The committee members for the Village of Urbancrest are Mayor Barnes, the village Law Director Rodd Lawrence, Council Person Skeaton and Council Person Shepherd. ADVERTISEMENT

NOTICE FOR THE TAKING OF BIDS ON DRAWINGS, SPECIFICATIONS AND FORM OF CONTRACT FOR THE CONSTRUCTION OF THE Picnic Pavilion.
SEALED PROPOSALS will be received by the Village of Urbancrest in the Offices of the Village  at 3492 First Avenue, Urbancrest, Ohio 43123 until 1:30 pm local time on August 10, 2016 for the following improvements as per Bidding Documents.
Picnic Pavilion & Site Improvements
Proposals received will be publicly opened at said time and at said address and read aloud, after which the bids, together with a recommendation of the Engineer, will be presented to the Village Council at its next meeting for action thereon for said improvements as follows:
Construction of a Picnic Pavilion and Site Improvements for The Village of Urbancrest
Bidding documents governing the construction of the proposed Project have been prepared by Bird+Bull, Inc., 2875 W. Dublin-Granville Road, Columbus, Ohio 43235, which documents referring to and defining said proposed improvements are hereby made a part of this Notice and the proposed contract by reference, and the proposed contract shall be executed in compliance therewith.
Complete sets of Bidding Documents distributed by the Issuing Office must be used in preparing Bids.  Bids will only be considered responsive from Bidders with registered sets of Bidding Documents as obtained from the Issuing Office.  The Issuing Office for this Project is Bird+Bull, Inc. Copies of the Bidding Documents for the Project may be obtained from the Issuing Office upon payment of $ 75.00 per set, none of which amount will be refunded.  Checks shall be made payable to Bird+Bull, Inc.

Future Development Initiatives

An enclosed shelter house to be erected in the Martin Luther King Park in the Village of Urbancrest. The enclosed shelter house will have inside restroom facilities, heating and air conditioning to also include additional parking.

Village of Urbancrest marquees to be erected on Broadway the desire is to place them at First Avenue, between Second Avenue and Central Avenue, and one on Fourth Avenue.
